Andrew Bloomer III, grew up here
Andrew Thomas Tom Bloomer III, of 111 Perry Drive, New Milford, a design specialist, died Monday, July 23, at his home. He was 56 years old and the husband of Lou Ann (Rigney) Bloomer.
Mr. Bloomer was born in Danbury on Feb. 7, 1945, a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Weitzel) Bloomer of Ridgefield. He grew up in Ridgefield and was a graduate of Ridgefield High School, Class of 1963. Later he attended Norwalk Technical School where he studied mechanical engineering.
He had been employed for some 22 years at Praxair, Inc. At the time of his death, he was a senior design specialist with Pyrotek of Tarrytown, N.Y.
He was an avid car and boat enthusiast.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three stepsons, Robert Iaia of Seoul, Korea, Craig Iaia of New Milford and Keith Iaia of Center Moriches, N.Y.; and a sister, Kaye Bloomer of Quincy, Mass.
A memorial service will take place today, Thursday, July 26, at 1 p.m. in the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford. Burial will be in Bald Hill Cemetery, Wilton.
